Freeport – Brian Evans, 62 of Freeport died at home after a brief illness. He was born on March 2, 1959 to Clyde Evans and Barbara (Phillips) Heidenreich. He graduated in 1977 from Freeport High School. He and Kimberly Wagner were married on May 10, 1986 in Freeport and together they raised a family. He worked as a printer for many years at Freeport Press and Wagner printing. Brian was very involved in being a 'Sports Dad' making sure that he made it to all the club volleyball and traveling softball games that his daughters played in. He himself played fast pitch softball for the Eagles Club team for many years. He enjoyed golfing so much that he had a regular Sunday foursome scheduled each Sunday at Park Hills Golf course in Freeport. His family was very important to him and he so enjoyed being with them.
He is survived by his wife, his mother Barbara (Duane) Heidenreich of Branson, MO and his two daughters, Erin (Austin) Gorsh of Davenport, IA and Lauren (Jason Dahl) Evans of Sioux Falls, SD. His legacy includes his "little buddy" aka Logan Gorsh, his grandson, whom he adored, of Davenport, IA. Brian, was Logan's beloved Papa.
He is preceded in death by his father as well as his mother and father-in-law, Bill and Carol Wagner.
Services will be held on Friday, October 29 th with a visitation beginning at 10am and a service immediately following at 11am all at Walker Mortuary. Pastor Hank Fairman of St. John United Church of Christ will be officiating. A memorial has been established in his name. Condolences can be left for the family at www.walkermortuary.com .
