Brian W. Murphy, 58 of Shannon passed away at FHN Memorial Hospital on Saturday, September 25, 2021. He was born on June 7, 1963 to the late Herbert and Karen (Beidler) L. Murphy Sr. He attended Freeport High School and went on to be an over the road truck driver for many years. He married Sandy Dikkers on September 10, 1993. Together they raised 4 children in the Shannon area. He attended Baileyville Reformed Church. He also enjoyed fishing with his kids.
He is survived by his wife, Sandy of 28 years; His sons, William (fiancé Bethany Shuman), Anthony Murphy and Steven Murphy all of Shannon and his daughter, Katherine (Landon) Gauthier of Lexington, KY. He also leaves behind his brothers, Mark (Candy) Murphy of Rockford; and Aaron, Butch and Joseph Murphy all of Freeport. His sisters surviving him are Shari (James) Cook of Chatttanooga, TN and Kellie (Harry) Beckman of Madison, WI. Also surviving is his mother-in-law, Ruth Dikkers of Shannon.
Preceding him in death are his parents, his father-in-law, John Dikkers and his infant sister, Kimberly.
Services will be Saturday, October 2 nd with a visitation beginning at 9:30am at the Baileyville Reformed Church followed by a service beginning at 11am also at the church. The Pastors John Tilstra and David Decker will be officiating. A memorial has been established in his name. Burial will take place at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
