Brian S. Sala, age 63 of Kent, IL, passed away Saturday, July 1, 2017 at FHN Memorial Hospital in Freeport. He was born March 10, 1954; the son of Stanley and Freda (Jenkins) Sala. He grew up and attended schools in Hawaii. Brian married Katherine Meyer on March 17, 1978.
He loved being an over the road truck driver and enjoyed doing anything that involved Hawaii and water: snorkeling, body surfing, and spear fishing. He had a passion for his fresh water aquarium and especially loved spending time with his grandkids. Brian was known for being a kind and giving soul and truly loved being around people.
He is survived by his mother, Freda Pluta of Freeport, IL; former wife, Katherine Meyer of Carpentersville, IL; daughter, Carmen (Dale) Kemp of Seward, IL; grandchildren, Devereaux and Marianna; and sisters, Cheryl Hoy of Kent, IL and Valma (Melvin) Pang of Kaneohe, HI. He was preceded in death by his father, Stanley.
