Rockford: Burrell A. "Barney" Schmeltzer, 89 formerly of Dakota and Freeport areas died Saturday March 1, 2008 at Rockford Memorial Hospital. Born March 13, 1918 in Dakota, IL he was the son of George and Ida (Wyler) Schmeltzer. On August 20, 1939 he married Marion M. Keehnen in Freeport and she preceded him in death on December 24, 1997.
