Calvin Dale Bennehoff 86, of Rockford passed away Tuesday, May 31, 2011 at Rockford Memorial Hospital after suffering a stroke. Born December 3, 1924 in Rock Grove Township he was the son of Claire and Anna (Sweger) Bennehoff. He was a 1942 Dakota High School graduate. On October 5, 1946 he married Ruth A. Schubert in Stockton. Dale was a farmer all his life, living on the home farm on Rock Grove Road until May, 1981 when he and Ruth moved to Rock City. She preceded him in death on May 14, 1989. Dale then married Carol (Meinert) Lundeen on December 30, 1989. They resided in Rock City until moving to Wesley Willows Retirement Community in Rockford in May of 2005. Surviving are his wife Carol of Rockford; two daughters Vickie (Gene) Lashinski of Freeport and Cheryl (Kevin) Finkenbinder of Orangeville; nine grandchildren Lisa (Chris) Rivera, Jennifer (Tom) Lopez, Erica Bennehoff, Stephanie and Kyle Bennehoff, Laurie Lashinski, Amy (Adam) Meyer, Steven and Jill Finkenbinder; five great-grandchildren; one sister, Miriam LeBaron of Freeport; one brother Paul (Thelma) Bennehoff of Frankfort, MI; one brother-in-law, Maurice TerHark of Rockford; two daughters-in-law, Elaine (David) Hullinger of Washington, IL and Eileen Bennehoff of Freeport; several nieces, nephews and many cousins. Preceding him in death were his parents, wife Ruth, two sons Ronald, Terry, two sisters Lucille Foss and Corolyn TerHark; two brothers-in-law Warren LeBaron and Virgil Meinert.
