Carl Bordner, 89, of Dakota died Thursday September 30, 2010 at his home Born December 15, 1920 he was the son of Raymond and Ina (Strayer) Bordner. He and Jean Neuschwander were united in marriage June 19, 1943. Carl owned and operated Bordner oil, farmed in the Dakota area and was Dakota Township Road Commissioner. He also worked for Rock Run Township and Horstmeier Building and Supply retiring in 1983. He was a member of the Dakota United Methodist Church, the Dakota Volunteer Fire Department for over 40yrs and served as chief for most of them.
Surviving are his wife Jean of Dakota; two daughters Margaret "Peg" (Dan) Whittenberg of Thompson Falls, MT and family Kevin Whittenberg, Kristin (Dell) Bouchard; Arlene (Ted) Jaeger of Dakota and family Curtis (Linette) DeHaven, Steven (Kristin) Dehaven, Bobbi (Nolan) Runte; two sons Ray (Ruthalie) Bordner of Rock City and family Jessica (Rainer) Wulf, Amanda Bordner; Larry (Pamela) Bordner of Dakota and family Chelsea and Haley Bordner; 14 great grandchildren; one brother Harold Bordner of Freeport; many nieces and nephews. Preceeding him in death are one brother Earl Bordner; one sister Pauline Schubert, and three great grandchildren.
