Carol Lorraine Doyle, age 79, sadly passed away on April 7, 2024, at Freeport Memorial Hospital. Carol was born January 15, 1945 in Clinton, Iowa to the late Bert and Josephine (Thomasson) Belk, her elder sister Gloria Belk also preceded her in death.

Carol graduated from Stockton High School in 1963, before moving to Freeport. She was employed at Newell Window Furnishings for 28 years displaying an incredible work ethic and pride in her job. Carol was born with a fearless free spirit and enjoyed the Chicago Bears, Cubs and was interested in crocheting, bowling and darts as hobbies. Carol had a soft spot for homeless cats and nurtured and provided shelter to many. Sassy her last fur baby is already missing her presence. Carol was a wonderful mother who was always there when you needed a shoulder to cry on or a kick in the pants.  The role that she enjoyed the most, however, was that of Grandma. She loved and was completely devoted to her four grandchildren. Her unwavering support and authentic fierce heart will be missed by those who loved her.

Carol is survived by her husband Frank Doyle who she married on August 25, 2000.  Frank befriended Carol in 1976 and they became a couple in 1990 and enjoyed many happy years together. She is also survived by her children, Tony Siegenthaler and Stacey (Christopher) Toepfer and the much beloved grandchildren; Devin Folgate, Tara Folgate, Eric Toepfer and Kaitlyn Toepfer. She also leaves behind two sisters; Patsy Dyson, and Dixie (Wayne) Sigafus along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Carol did not enjoy a lot of fuss, so a celebration of life with close family will be scheduled in the future per her wishes.  Condolences can be shared with the family at www.walkermortuary.com .
