Carol J. Klock , age 91 of Freeport, IL, passed away Friday, May 18, 2018 at Pearl Pavilion in Freeport. She was born August 27, 1926; the daughter of the late Elersley and Edna (Brobst) Richards. She married Merlyn Klock on December 31, 1946; he passed on July 27, 1978.

Carol graduated from Freeport High School and went on to attend the Deaconess School of Nursing. She retired from Micro Switch and then provided homecare to senior citizens. Music was her passion that she passed along to her family, teaching her children to play various instruments. She loved playing guitar and giving accordion lessons. She also enjoyed knitting, mowing her lawn, and having coffee with friends.

Carol is survived by her daughters, Connie (Bill) Best of Freeport, Colleen (Walt) Geiseman of Dakota, IL, and Marlene Fogel of Freeport; son, Jeff Klock of Baileyville, IL; 12 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and several nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Merlyn; daughters, Marsha Stegall and Lisa Klock; and brothers, Delbert, Gerald, and Roger.

Cremation Rites have been accorded. A family service will be held at a later date.
