IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Carol A.
Wilson
June 17, 1939 – September 26, 2023
Carol Anne Wilson, 84, a lifelong resident of Freeport passed away at Ascension Saint Joseph Village on September 26, 2023. She is preceded in death by her mother, Florence Stafford and father John P.Hoebel and her husband Clarence Wilson. She is survived by daughters Stephanie (Mitch) Fager of Winston, Georgia and Kelli (Len) Boudreaux of Buford, Georgia and her brother Ronald N. Paul of Dixon, California and Bigfork, Montana..
Her career was something she was proud of, retiring from Newell International and then returning to work at Midwest Bank of Freeport. Rather than remarking about her successes at work, she will be fondly remembered by family and dear friends, near and far. She was a world traveler and enjoyed going on cruises and trips to Maine, Florida, and Ireland, to name a few. People often asked her, "your daughters want to vacation with you?" You bet they did! Stephanie, Kelli, and their husbands cherish the visits to Caribbean ports of call and special times on cruise ships with her.
Oh, the stories they'll always remember from visits home to Freeport, which Carol loved, especially when her grand doggies made the journey from Georgia. "It's all about the food!" and she would start to plan a schedule and meals weeks before they arrived.
She will be dearly missed by wonderful friends whom she met for coffee, dined out with, gathered with to play games, and joined on fun day trips.
If you were lucky enough to be given one of her handmade greeting cards, or if you commissioned her to make some custom cards, you were a recipient of her creativity and joy. Cards by Carol was her hobby of happiness.
A diehard fan of the Green Bay Packers and Chicago Cubs, she tried to not miss a game on TV.
Carol would want everyone to use sunscreen and wear a hat.
Cremation rites will be completed. A celebration of her life will be held on Friday, October 6th, 2023. A visitation will begin at 10am and a service will follow at 11am all at Walker Mortuary of Freeport. Condolences can be left for the family at www.walkermortuary.com.
