Charlene L. Pfund, 78 of Freeport formerly of Lena died Thursday, November 15, 2012 at her home. Born January 17, 1934 at Stevens Point, WI she was the daughter of Chauncey and Marie (Streek) Edwards. She married John Pfund on January 25, 1952 in Albany, WI. For many years she worked for Le-Win High School and was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Freeport. Charlene enjoyed playing cards (winning), baking cookies, traveling, flying with her husband as co-pilot. Surviving are her husband John of Freeport, two children Diane (David) Riemer of Ridott, Dean (Cynthia) Pfund of Loves Park; three grandchildren Karla (Adam) Saxe of Freeport, Chad Pfund of Nachusa, Makesha Bueno of Loves Park; four great grandchildren Bryan and Sean Saxe, Ana Sofia and Olivia Rhea Bueno; brother Phillip (Vickie) Edwards of Sebring, FL; niece Elaine (Jim) McGregor of Washington State. Preceding her in death were her parents and a sister Alice Marie Jenkins. Visitation will be 12noon until 2pm Saturday followed by a memorial service at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses 1000 Longhorn Ct, with Gerald Boos officiating. Loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend, she will be missed. Cremation rites will be accorded and burial will be at the Rock Grove Union Cemetery in Rock Grove. A memorial has been established in her name.
