Obituary
Charles B. "Charlie" Elam of Freeport, died Sunday, September 28, 2014 at CGH Medical Center in Sterling.
Born March 30, 1950 in Enid, Oklahoma he was the son of Charles and Alice (Ready) Elam. He married Dorothy Fellows November 3, 1985.
Charlie was a spray painter for Kaiser Westran in Byron. He and his wife were Rockford Register Star Delivery for over 20 years.
He was an avid Bears fan who loved his dogs, Boomer and Bailey.
Surviving are his wife, Dorothy of Freeport; his children, Tricia of Wisconsin, Chrissy of Tennessee, Eric of Elgin, and Kim of Indiana; his sister, Donna O'Brien of Frank Ford, Illinois; several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and infant daughter.
Cremation rites have been accorded.
Memorial services will be 1 p.m. Thursday, October 1, 2014 at Walker Mortuary.
