Obituary

Charles "Chuck" Lester Bryan, 69, formerly of Freeport went home to be with the Lord Monday, June 23, 2014 at the Neighbors Nursing Home in Byron. Born September 10, 1944 in Woodland, CA, he was the son of George Vernon and Beulah Marie (Jones) Bryan. The most important things in life to Chuck were God and his family. Chuck enjoyed country music and taught line dancing. He worked construction and enjoyed fixing things. In the summer, his favorite pastime was working in the yard, mowing and planting flowers. He was a loving person and always went out of his way to help everyone. Surviving are his sisters Marion Lewis of CA, Marlene Edmund of Stockton, Pamela Waller of Freeport, Carol (Duane) Price of Freeport; a brother Donald Lee Bryan of Freeport; several nieces and nephews in Illinois, his four children; Charles Jr, Michelle, Mark, and Scott; eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren, all in California. His loving wife Irene preceded him in death in 2008. Also preceding him in death are his parents, three brothers: Vernon Eugene and William Gerald Bryan and Emerson Stanley Waller. Cremation rites will be accorded and a memorial service will be Saturday, July 5 at 3 p.m. at Grace Episcopal Church in Freeport. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in his name for the Alzheimer's Association and the Heartland Hospice.
