Charles E. (Chuck) Hill, 90 years young of Freeport IL left this world to be with his beloved wife in heaven on Dec. 31, 2018.  Chuck was born Nov. 08, 1928 in Freeport to Alvin and Marie (Nevenhoven) Hill.  Chuck married his best friend Lucille (Remmers) on Nov. 24, 1948 in Lucille's family home in rural Dakota IL. Chuck and Lucille loved the farming and rural life. Chuck and Lucille farmed side by side in the Dakota, Pearl City and Freeport areas and he continued to work on farms until his retirement. Lucille proceeded Chuck to heaven on Nov. 09, 2009. Chuck absolutely loved fishing with his wife and family.  He also enjoyed working in his yard and mowing his lawn. Chuck loved his family very much and especially loved spending time with his grandchildren.

He will be dearly missed by his 4 children, Dennis (Jean) Hill of Kent, Patty (Steve) Croffoot of Freeport, Steve (Merri) Hill of Monticello WI, and Pam (Jeff) Drake of rural Freeport, his 9 grandchildren, Scott (Jean) Hill, Tracey (Angie) Hill, A.J. (Sara) Croffoot, Matt Croffoot, Suzie (Matt) Siegenthaler, Nathan Hill (Olivia Huseman), Charles Devin Hill (Jami Grahm), Cody Drake and Shayna Drake, as well as his 12 great-grandchildren, one brother, Eugene Hill of Pearl City, one sister-in-law Edie Reuber of Freeport and cat Zippo.

He was proceeded in death by his parents, brother Melvin Hill, sister-in-law Sharon Hill and wife and best friend Lucille.  Services will be Friday, January 4 ^th at 11am at Trinity United Methodist Church – Freeport.  Visitation will begin at 9:30am prior to the start of the service at Trinity United Methodist. A memorial has been established in his name for FHN Hospice and Trinity United Methodist Church.
