Charles R.H. Meinert, 92 of Davis died Tuesday June 2, 2009 at his home. Born September 22, 1916 at Rock City he was the son of Frank and Maud (Bradley) Meinert. On April 22, 1935 he married Ruth I. Kuhlmeier at Dakota. She preceded him in death on September 5, 1996. After graduating from Dakota High School in 1935 he was a farmer in the Ridott, Orangeville and Dakota areas. He was a member of Davis Faith Community Church, Gideons International Bible Study and Faith Community Church Men's Bible Study.
He is survived by five daughters Jaculyn Niesman of Rock City, Linda (Bill) Ives of Lake Tomahawk, WI.
Joyce (Bill) Kubatzke of Freeport, Charlotte (Vince) Nemeth of Rockford, Kay (Jim) Seaton of Brodhead, ; two sons Larry Meinert of Brodhead, WI, Brad (Patty) Meinert of Davis;
15 grandchildren, one step grandchild, 29 great grandchildren, 8 great greatgrandchildren; one sister Marcette Becker of Pecatonica, one brother Frank (Tootie) Meinert of Dakota; many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Ruth, three grandchildren, one son-in-law Robert Niesman, two sisters Margaret Solberger and Marjorie Homan, three brothers Clement, Lee and Jackson.
Visitation will be Thursday from 4pm until 8pm at Daughenbaugh Funeral Home 115 S. W. Street Dakota. Funeral service is 10:30 a.m. Friday at Davis Faith Community Church in Davis with Pastor Bob Kolb officiating.
Burial will be in the Dakota Cemetery.
A memorial fund has been established in his name for the Monroe Hospice and Gideons International.
