Freeport-Charles A. Sarlin, 67, of Freeport, died Sunday, June 20, 2004 at St. Anthony Medical Center after a 12-year battle with Cardiomyopathy & Diabetes.
Born August 12, 1936 in Chicago he was the son of Howard V. and Margaret (Beyer) Sarlin. He married Peggy Courtney July 4, 1965.
He was a purchasing manager for Elkay Manufacturing in Lanark.
A US Army veteran his memberships included Faith United Methodist Church, Excelsior Masonic Lodge, Glenview Masonic Lodge, York Rite Bodies, Scottish Rite Bodies, Medina Temple Chicago, Eastern Star, White Shrine of Jerusalem, Gatling Gun Club of Ohio, the Viking Ship Restoration Committee in Chicago and the League of Finnish Societies in Chicago.
Surviving is his wife, Peggy and his mother in-law, Margaret Muscarello both of Freeport; two nieces; four nephews.
His parents; one sister, Jean Green preceded him in death.
Cremation rites have been accorded.
Memorial services will be Thursday 2:30 p.m. at Parkview Home with Dr. Gerald Robey of the home and Reverend Douglas Q. Bowden of Faith United Methodist Church officiating.
