Charlie W. Schuler, 80, of Freeport, died Saturday, March 26, 2016, at Manor Court in Freeport.
Born June 8, 1935 in Freeport he was the son of Willard and Dorothy (Meyers) Schuler. He married Linda K. Brobst December 23, 1961 in Freeport.
Charlie was U.S. Army veteran.
He worked for Micro Switch for 40 years.
He was a member of First United Methodist Church and Golden K. Kiwanis.
Charlie volunteered as a driver for the veterans to the Veterans Hospital in Madison and at the FACC Food Pantry.
Surviving are his wife, Linda of Freeport; his children, Susan (Mike) Miklinski of Dunedin, Florida, Stacey (Bob) Gende of McHenry, Illinois, Sarah (Rick) Bolen of Winnebago, Illinois, and Bill (Lori) Schuler of Freeport; four grandchildren, Owen Miklinski, Brad and Mary Gende, and Kyle Bolen; his brother-in-law, Tom (Cathy Brandenburg) Brobst of Freeport; 2 nieces, Tammy Stichter and Teresa (Steve) Whalen
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at First United Methodist Church in Freeport.
Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at Walker Mortuary.
Burial will be in the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
Memorials have been established for First United Methodist Church, FHN Memorial Hospice, and Salvation Army.
