Clifford L. Gilleland, 86, passed away April 29, 2024 at the Hospice House in Monroe Wisconsin with family at his side. Cliff was born June 1937 in Cedar Rapids Iowa to Clifford and Zila (Reid) Gilleland. It was in Cedar Rapids at a church summer camp that he met his future wife Edna Manwiller. He and Edna were married January 1,1959. Cliff finished his 4 years in the Air Force and he and Edna settled in Cedar Rapids where he worked as a draftsman. They were gifted with 2 sons, Mike and Dan. In 1964 God called Cliff to full-time ministry. He and Edna sold their house, packed up the family and headed South to attend college in Missouri and Seminary in Texas. They were gifted with their daughter Amy during this time. Cliff pastored churches in Missouri, Texas, Wisconsin, Minnesota, and came to Park Hills Evangelical Free Church in Freeport 1986. He served on staff until 1990 when he became senior pastor. Cliff's gift and passion was teaching the Bible, and he loved to teach home and small group Bible studies, teaching books of the Bible verse by verse.
Survivors include his wife Edna of 65 years, son Mike (Becky) Gilleland of Wisconsin, son Dan (Leslie) Gilleland of Minnesota, daughter Amy Gilleland of Freeport, 10 grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters, and Edna's parents Floyd and Kathryn Manwiller.
Visitation will be May 3rd from 4-6pm at Park Hills Church. A memorial service will be May 4th at 1pm at Park Hills Church with a light lunch following.
