Connie Lee Brady of Freeport, formerly of Pearl City, passed to rest in her eternal home on May 8th, 2026.

She was born on May 31st, 1947, in Lanark, Illinois, to Harold and Mildred Larsen.

On January 21, 1966, she began her 60-year marriage to her high school sweetheart, Doug. Their marriage was a testament to enduring love and partnership.

Connie and Doug farmed together in Pearl City; wherever Doug went, Connie was right by his side. She also held a variety of jobs, including positions at Microswitch, Gamble’s, Heine Plastics, and Spurgeon’s. Wherever she worked, she made lasting connections with those around her.

Connie was a woman who loved unconditionally. Her heart was open to all, animals included, but especially her family. Connie had a special gift for remembering life’s meaningful moments; whether by card or lengthy phone call, she never missed an opportunity to reach out and make others feel remembered and cherished. She treasured time with her grandchildren, often playing Uno, coloring together, or treating them to special outings at McDonald’s.

Connie was a strong woman who faced numerous medical challenges throughout her life. Through it all, she remained positive and courageous until the very end. She was an example of resilience and grace.

Connie is survived by her loving husband, Doug; her children, Lisa (Larry) Musser (Pearl City) and Jeff (Kate) Brady (Hartford, WI); her grandchildren, Scott (Jenni) Musser (Freeport), Ethan (Paige) Lartz (Lanark), Katy (Justin Hughes) Musser (Bettendorf, IA), James Brady and Ben Brady; and great-grandchildren, Owen, Emily, Isla and Ivy Lartz and Kenley and Kellen Musser. Brother-in-law Joe Brady (Scottsdale, AZ); sister-in-law Sue Pierson (Gordy Pierson) (Rockton, IL); many cousins, including Jeanne Jordan and Kathy Lisk; many nieces and nephews; and many friends, including Kathy Alvarado. Her loving legacy lives on in the hearts of all who know her.

A visitation will be held Friday, May 15th, at Walker Mortuary from 4-7pm. The funeral will be Saturday, May 16th, at Pearl City Methodist Church at 10:30am, with burial to follow.  A memorial has been established in her name for SSM Monroe Hospice.  Condolences can be shared with the family at www.walkermortuary.com.
