IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Connie S.
Rudy
November 11, 1947 – July 2, 2025
Connie Sue Rudy, 77, went to spend eternity with the Lord on July 2, 2025. She was born November 11, 1947, to Marv and Rose (Kingery) Lindstrom. She graduated from Shannon High School in 1965. Connie married Lynn E. Rudy on December 16, 1967.
Connie was a devoted Christian who loved spending time with her family and close friends. Those who know her will remember her as a selfless, fun-loving woman who always put others first. She will also be remembered for her love of baking and always having something sweet available for her loved ones. Her silly antics, along with her contagious laugh, made her truly one of a kind.
She was always on the go; whether that was as a 4H leader, volunteer at the Stephenson County Fair, or member of the Eagles Club. Connie adored spending time at the lake in the summer with close lake friends and family, and in the winter, she enjoyed traveling somewhere warm to escape the cold. She spent endless hours gardening, mowing the lawn, and keeping house (because we all know that she had to have everything "just so").
Connie always expressed how important her family was to her. She is survived by her children Troy (LeAnne) Rudy, Tricia (Ryan) Byington, and Tanya (Jeremy) Mathews. Also, her 8 beloved grandchildren: Cydney (Ethan) Shanks, Makayla (Collin) Hauser, Brock (Savannah) Byington, Mavric (Elizabeth McCallister) Rudy, Kolton Rudy, Cade Rudy, Deegan (Cassidy Brashaw) Mathews, and Taryn (Aaron Delavin) Mathews. She is proud of her great-grandchildren: Forrest Hauser, Veyda Hauser, Sperry Byington, Suede Byington, and Evelynn Shanks. Connie spent time in her last few years with her special friend Ed Stukenberg as well.
She was preceded in death by husband Lynn Rudy, parents Marv and Rose Lindstrom, and brother Dave Lindstrom.
A private service will be held for the family at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. A celebration of life will be held for Connie on July 27th at the Eagles Club of Freeport from 3:00 pm – 7:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established with FHN Hospice and American Family Children's Hospital (UW). Condolences can be left for the family at www.walkermortuary.com
