Craig Fuchs , age 68 of Dakota, IL, passed away at home on Saturday, July 25, 2020. He was born June 13, 1952; the son of the late Walter and Genevieve (Hasselman) Fuchs. He was a 1970 graduate of Dakota High School and went on to Highland Community College for Auto Mechanics. Craig married Melody LaBudde on June 30, 1973,

He worked as a mechanic and retired from Devansoy in Rock City, IL. Craig used his craftsmanship to do volunteer projects for the Dakota Park including Christmas decorations and building the bus. He loved taking his granddaughters to the park to enjoy the work he had done. He also enjoyed fishing, traveling, and attending his granddaughter's sporting events.

Craig is survived by his wife Melody Fuchs of Dakota; son, Brian (Ann Kriens) of Davis, IL; daughter, Brenda (Ryan) Pierson of Cherry Valley, IL; grandchildren, Emma (13) & Ella (10) Pierson; and Allison (18) & Adam (17) Kriens; brothers, Rodney (Dorothy) Fuchs of Monroe, WI and Jim (Gloria Schesvold) Fuchs of Rockford, IL; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Connie Smith; and brother, Michael Fuchs.

The Daughenbaugh Funeral Home of Dakota is assisting Craig's family. A private service will be held at the Dakota United Methodist Church. Interment will take place at the Dakota Cemetery.
