Curtis L. Hollister, age 75 of Freeport, IL, passed away on Tuesday, March 24, 2020 at FHN Memorial hospital. He was born January 24, 1945 to Ivan and Ethel (Alston) Hollister. He married Patricia Ann Schult on June 17, 1967.
Curtis was a union electrician for 42 years before retiring. He was a very active member of Immanuel Lutheran Church where he was the technical director of the AV. His church and faith were very important to him. He was also an assistant Boy Scout leader for many years. He loved his grandchildren very much. He also enjoyed camping, fishing and the Chicago Bears. All of his family was very special to him.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia Hollister; children, Naleta (Greg) Bilgri, Melissa (Allen) Hayunga, Bill (Melissa) Hollister, Tom (Kirsten) Hollister, Dan (Sarah) Hollister, and Amanda (Steve) Collier; grandchildren, Alyson (Josh) Harbaugh, Ethan Bilgri, Megan & Sydney Hayunga, Evan Hollister, Abigale Hollister, and Scott, Isabell, Lucas & Emma Collier; brother, Steve (Carol) Hollister; and nephews, Josh and Ben Hollister. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A private interment will take place at Oakland Cemetery in Freeport. A memorial service will be held at Immanuel Lutheran Church on Sunday, August 1, 2021 at 1 pm. A memorial fund has been established in his name. Condolences may be shared at www.walkermortuary.com.
