Obituary
Dale H. Moss, 88, of Freeport departed this life Monday, November 21, 2011.
Born May 18, 1923 in Freeport he was the son of the Raymond and Edna (Metzker) Moss
He attended Freeport Senior High School and graduated from DeForests Training in Chicago, IL.
He served in the United States Army Air force and was a member of the American Legion.
Dale worked at Honeywell until he went into his own business, Moss TV and Radio, retiring in 2003.
Dale lived his life to the fullest and loved being involved as a joking clown with all of his special hats and ties. Earlier in life he and his brother drove a buggy in several parades.
Dale was a member of Second Presbyterian Church in Freeport.
Surviving are nieces Sharon (Tom) Hull of Freeport and Trudy (John) Goethe of Harrisonville, Missouri; nephews Terry (Julie) Moss of Freeport and Leslie (Diana) Moss of Westerville, Ohio; Great nephews and nieces, Lisa (Michael) Rust of German Valley, Todd (Becky) Bendick of Freeport, Matthew Thomas (DeAnn) Jennings of Pecatonica, IL, Timothy Mark (Stacey) Jennings of Centennial, CO, Peter Tyson (Jill) Jennings of Brighton, CO, John Goethe, Jr. of Derby, KS, Jason (Karin) Goethe of Overland Park, KS, Shannon (Brett) Hiser of Harrisonville, MO, Jesse Goethe of Chicago, IL., Andrea (Jason) Elgin of Monroe, WI, Kelley (Jamie) Campell of Freeport, IL, Mike (Lori) Moss of Waterloo, IA, Jennifer Nott of Texas, Michelle (Scott) Mattox of Tupelo , MS; 23 great great nephews and nieces; and special friend, Shirley Janssen of Freeport.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his step-father, Ed Peacock; 1 brother Donald O. Moss; 1 niece, Diana (Moss) Steffen.
Funeral services and burial will be 10 a.m. Saturday, November 26, 2011 in the Chapel of Peace in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens with Reverend Don Jamerson of First Free Methodist Church officiating.
Visitation will be Saturday 9 a.m. until time of service in the Chapel of peace.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
