Obituary
Freeport-Dale G. Simler, 70, of Freeport, died Sunday February 1, 2004 at FHN Memorial Hospital.
Born March 28, 1933 in Freeport. He was the son of Eddie and Harriet (Spielman) Simler.
He married Vivian M. Holden September 15, 1956 and she died January 12, 1972. He worked for House of Lindberg in Freeport.
Surviving are two sons, DeWayne Simler of Freeport; Steve (Jacqueline) Simler of Chula Vista, California; 4 grandchildren Brian, Douglas, Eugena and Virginia; 4 great grandchildren; 2 sisters Virginia (Jim) Jonas of Rockford, June (Fritz) Miller of Freeport; 4 brothers Jim Simler of Freeport, Richard (Linda) Simler of De Forest, WI, Jerry (Sharon) Simler of Freeport, Ronnie (Lynette) Simler of Freeport, one brother in law Roger Shade and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; one son, Scott, one brother Robert and one sister Joyce.
Funeral service will be Thursday 1:00pm at the Chapel of Peace in the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
Friends may call Wednesday from 4pm until 7pm at Walker Mortuary.
A memorial fund has been established in his name.
