Dale Albert Willhite , 85, of Freeport died on Saturday, October 30, 2021 at Ascension Living St. Joseph Village in Freeport. He was born April 19, 1936 in Freeport. He was the son of Pete and Alma (Leemhuis) Willhite.

He married Shirley Ann Kopp September 1, 1956 in Orangeville. He worked 40 years at Micro Switch Company in Freeport. He was a former member of Fraternal Order of Eagles.

Surviving are his children, Debra (Ronald) Wubben and Sandra Schadewalt both of Freeport, and James (Debra) Willhite of Orangeville; 7 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley, parents; brothers, Donald Willhite and Kenneth Willhite; and son-in-law, Robert Schadewalt.

Cremation rites have been accorded. There will be a gathering at Walker Mortuary for family and friends on Friday, November 5, 2021 from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. A memorial service will begin at 2:00 p.m. also at Walker Mortuary. A time of fellowship will follow. A private burial will take place at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. A memorial fund has been established for St. Joseph Village.
