Daniel J. Dominick, age 94 of Freeport, IL, passed away on Friday, April 11, 2025 at Parkview Home in Freeport. He was born September 8, 1930 in Manchester, IA; the son of the late Tiller (James) and Anna (Heiserman) Dominick. Daniel married Norma Gayle Rockow on November 27, 1958 at Embury United Methodist Church in Freeport.

He was a 1948 graduate of Freeport High School and went on to Highland Community College. Daniel served in the United States Army from 1955-1957. In his early years, Daniel worked as a carpenter for Wayne Dir Construction. He then worked at MicroSwitch/Honeywell until retirement.

Daniel was a member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America, Harmony United Methodist Church, the Eagles Club, and Elks Lodge. He was also a former member of the Germania Club. He was an avid golfer and exceptional craftsman when it came to woodworking. In retirement woodworking became his passion, making furniture for family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Norma Gayle Dominick of Freeport; sons, Charles (Gloria) Dominick of Prairie du Sac, WI and Andrew (Jackie) Dominick of Orangeville, IL; daughter, Suzanne (Jerald) Wetter of Lindenhurst, IL; grandchildren, Amanda, Samantha, Jessica, Erica, Nicole, and Kip; and great grandchildren, Carson, Madison, Charles, Mekhi, Ganix, Talon, Jayce, and Jaxyn. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Marvin Dominick.

The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 16, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Walker Mortuary in Freeport, IL with Pastor Eddie Eddy presiding. There will be a visitation before the service beginning at 10:00 a.m. Interment will take place at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Freeport. A memorial fund has been established in his name.
