Daniel D. Dubs, age 76 of Freeport, IL, passed away on Sunday, September 17, 2023 at FHN Memorial Hospital in Freeport. He was born April 21, 1947; the son of the late Daniel and Joyce (Morrow) Dubs. Dan married Mary Gould on September 24, 2022.

He graduated from Freeport High School with the class of 1965 and went on to have several careers in the mechanical field. As a helicopter mechanic in the Air Force, and automotive technician at Myers Ford, the owner/operator of Dan's Mobile, driver/operator of Big Foot Fastrax and ultimately his hot rod shop at Dan's Automotive. It was obvious that cars were his passion. He especially loved old cars and going to car shows. Dan will be remembered for his sense of humor. He always had a story or joke to tell.

He is survived by his wife, Mary (Gould) Dubs of Freeport; son, Aaron (Rebekah) Dubs of Weatherford, TX; daughter, Heather Dubs-Blair of Weatherford, TX; step-son, Joshua (Catye) Gould of Stoneville, NC; step-daughters, Kirsten (JD) Watson of Machesney Park, IL and Whitney Gould of Belvidere, IL; grandchildren, Austin Blair, Damion Beestrum, Madisyn Gould, Hannah Watson, Emilee Kilbarger, and Mia High; and great grandchildren, Elena & Everlyn Gould. He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Patricia; son, Jason; and brother, Randall.

The funeral service will be held on Friday, September 22, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Walker Mortuary in Freeport. There will be a visitation before the service beginning at 1:00 p.m. A memorial fund has been established in his name. Condolences may be shared with his family at www.walkermortuary.com.
