Daniel D. Raymond , age 79 of Ridott, IL passed away Tuesday, July 3, 2018 surrounded by his family. He was born on March 23, 1939 in Polo, IL to the late Daniel G. Raymond and Libbie Pettenger. Daniel was a graduate of Forreston High School. He married Beverly Roach on September 14, 1962. She passed away July 25, 2014.

Daniel was a member of Bethany United Church of Christ in Freeport. He retired from Microswitch and brought enjoyment to many children by playing Santa for over 45 years. He was a very giving man and would help anyone who needed it. Daniel enjoyed fishing with his best friend Kenny, hunting, NASCAR, L.A. Lakers, camping, auctions and most of all, spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren, often watching their sporting events.

He is survived by his sons, Steven A. Raymond Sr. (Sharon Brown) of Freeport, Daniel L. Raymond (Dawn) of Freeport; his daughters, Terry A. Smith of Freeport, Susan K. Kerchner (Gary) of Freeport, Fay L. Raymond-Mullins (Vito Rosolia) of Freeport; his 19 grandchildren, many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; his brother, Lyle (Bonnie) Raymond of Freeport; his sisters, Roberta Bass of Sterling and Donna Otte of Freeport and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Beverly, his parents, son James Daniel, Daughter Penny Lou Helms, two brothers and one sister.
