Daniel A. Weber, 85, of Freeport died Saturday, September 27, 2014 at his home. Born March 1, 1929 in McHenry, he was the son of Joseph and Adele (Jung) Weber. On June 18, 1960 he and Dolores Freund were united in marriage. He was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Freeport. Dan was a veteran of the United States Army and served during the Korean Conflict. He farmed all his life and did various jobs including cattle artificial insemination, plumbing and delivering mail. He was an avid fan of boat racing and car racing. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, caring for his animals and was in bowling leagues. Surviving are his wife of Freeport, children Diane Weber, Cindy Weber both of Freeport, David Weber of Madison, WI, Valerie (Mike) Williams of Wichita, KS, Jennifer (Adam) Meador of Alpharetta, GA, Ethan, Ashton and Jaida Weber all of Freeport. Nine grandchildren, two great grandchildren and a brother William (Joan) Weber of McHenry. Preceding him in death were his parents, one son James and a sister Joyce. Visitation will be Wednesday, October 1, 2014 from 9:30 am until 10:30 am at St. Thomas Church in Freeport. Funeral Mass will be 10:30 am Wednesday at Church with Father Kenneth Anderson officiating. Burial will be at the Calvary Cemetery in Freeport. A memorial has been established in his name.
