Danny LaVerne Stark, 54, of Freeport passed away peacefully in his home on November 17, 2021. Danny was born to Kenneth Stark and Emily (Miller) Ferguson on April 12, 1967. He grew up in Freeport and attended Freeport High School and graduated in 1985. Danny had a love for golf and enjoyed playing with his son, dad, and many other friends throughout the years. Danny loved spending his Sundays watching the Vikings play, win or lose. (Go Vikings!) Danny loved his animals and they brought him immense joy. Danny loved to make people laugh and was always a kid at heart. Most of all, Danny was extremely proud of his children and what they have accomplished.

He is survived by his daughter, Kahley (Joseph) Scheller of DeKalb; son, Collin Stark of Marseilles; father, Kenneth Stark of Freeport; mother, Emily (Miller) Ferguson of Dakota; sister, Cathy Cornelius of Forreston; step-brother, Mark Ferguson of Atlanta, GA; his ex-wife, Jeanna Stark of Freeport; several nieces and nephews, and what his children call "grand furbabies".

Danny is preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents, step-father, and several aunts and uncles.

A service will be held on Saturday, April 2, 2022 at 10:30am at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Friends Forever Humane Society in Danny's name.
