Darlene Hansen, 56, of Freeport died Monday, March 11, 2013 at FHN Memorial Hospital in Freeport. Born December 16, 1956 in Hazard, Kentucky she was the daughter of Forrester and Ida Brashear. On April 26, 1975 she and Richard Hansen were united in marriage at Mundelein, IL. Her passion to help the elderly gave her a career for 37 years in the Health Care industry. She and her husband attended First Church of the Open Bible in Freeport. She was a member of the Chamber of Commerce and the Red Hatters. She enjoyed traveling to Mexico, doing crafts and was a very giving person. She is survived by her husband Richard of Freeport; three children Joshua James (Sherri) Hansen of McHenry, Zachary Wayne (Amanda) Hansen of McHenry, Stephanie (Charles Fissell) Hansen of Freeport; three grandchildren Logan, Jack and Eli Hansen; two sisters Erika and Theresia; one brother Lemuel; four sisters-in-laws Cindy, Lesley, Jennifer and Stephanie; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents. A memorial service will be held 11am Saturday, March 23rd at First Church of the Open Bible with Reverend Burliss Parker officiating. Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial has been established in her name.
