Freeport: Darlene V. Folgate, 84, died Tuesday September 19, 2006 at FHN Memorial Hospital in Freeport. Born February 28, 1922 in Dixon, Illinois she was the daughter of William and Eleanor (Timmons) Huisenga. In January of 1946 she married Emmert Folgate, he preceded her in death in August of 1993. Darlene was a very active member of Zion Church , Teaching Sunday school and also being a member of the amity society, and was a hospital volunteer for meals on wheels from 1983 until the present. Surviving are her daughter, Kimberly (Steven) Fricke of Freeport, her brother Gerald Abbott of Freeport and two grandchildren Kali (Greg) Drane of Stockton and Cassandra Fricke of Freeport. She was preceded in death by her husband, two grandsons and two brothers. Funeral Service and burial will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday at the Chapel of Peace in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Freeport. With the Reverend Gardy Cronk of Zion Church officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. at Walker Mortuary. A Memorial has been established in her name.
