Darvin T Cox, 96, of Freeport, died Friday, July 8, 2016, at Stephenson Nursing Center.
Born June 26, 1920 in Jefferson, Iowa he was the son of Frank W. and Geneva (Chambers) Cox. He married Audrey E. Stowe April 10, 1945 in Cedarville.
He was a WWII veteran.
Darvin worked at Meyers Ford from 1945 until 1964 and then Kelly Springfield Tire Company from 1964 to 1982.
He was a member of Forreston reform Church in Forreston.
Surviving are his wife, Audrey of Freeport; his daughters, Pam, (Kenneth) Hess of Stockton and Vicki (Michael) Jones of Freeport; 8 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 3 brothers; 5 sisters; and his grandson, Jeffery Herburger; his great grandson Alexander Hess.
Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at Forreston Reform Church in Forreston. Burial will be in the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. until time of service at the Church on Tuesday.
A memorial has been established for Forreston Reform Church.
