Darwin (Tom) Hostetter, age 74 of Freeport passed away at Park Strathmoor in Rockford, Illinois on August 4th, 2024. He was born on January 13th, 1950 in Sullivan, Indiana to Darwin and Opal Hostetter (deceased). Tom attended Canton, Illinois High School, followed by attaining his GED in the Army. Tom served in the Army from 1968-1974. Tom and Phyllis were married at Hollywood Wedding Chapel in Las Vegas on September 11th, 2008. Tom retired from Kelly Springfield, and spent his remaining years spending time with his family and grandkids, riding his Odysseys, and watching wrestling.

His survivors include, Wife Phyllis Hostteter of Freeport; Daughter Candi Heitkam (Ray Davison) of Freeport; Son Robert Chambers of Freeport; Sister Rae Rognas of Ottawa; Nieces Lynn and Laurie; Grandchildren Jordan, Mackenzie, Kyle, Marissa, Madison, Damian, Maria, Tyler, Trey, Nikolas, Lexi, and Luca; and 5 Great Grandchildren.

There will be a Celebration of Life with dinner provided, held at Freeport Eagles Club on Sunday, August 18th from 1-4pm. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in his name. Condolences can be shared with the family at www.walkermortuary.com.
