David E. Barger, 66, of Freeport, died Sunday November 2, 2008 at his home. Born March 1,1942 in Oak Park, IL. He was the son of Alexander and Bernice (Larson) Barger. He married Jill R. Schiesser of Freeport in 1966; she preceded him in death on August 5th, 2007. Mr. Barger is survived by his son and daughter-in-law Chris and Sara Barger and his loving grandsons Barrett and Cullen Barger of Greenfield, WI. He is also survived by his mother-in-law Nada Schiesser of Freeport, brother Allen Barger of Littleton, CO and sister Sandra Lana of Eveleth, MN.
Mr. Barger received his Bachelors of Science degree from Western Illinois University and his Masters of Science degree from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville. He served as an educator/counselor/coach for 36 years in Freeport and Pearl City. He was also a member of the Elk's Lodge and the Fraternal Order of Eagles.
