David D. Janicke, age 71 of Rockford, IL, passed away Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at Mercy Hospital (Rockford Memorial Hospital). He was born June 21, 1946; the son of the late Arthur and Lola (Fosler) Janicke.

He attended both the Milestone Training Center and Milestone Industries. David participated in the Special Olympics in the softball throw and the 100 meter walk. He was a connoisseur of hamburgers and loved music.

He is survived by his sister, Sheryl Harbison of Elgin, IL; brothers, Martin (Lana) Janicke of Roseville, IL and Douglas (Lorraine) Janicke of Rockford, IL; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held Monday, March 12 ^th at 11:00 am at Milestone, Inc. 2662 Elmwood Rd., Rockford, IL 61103. A private family interment will take at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Freeport, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to Milestone, Inc. 4060 McFarland Rd., Loves Park, IL 61111.
