David A. Klein, 51, of Freeport, IL, died Friday, January 11, 2008, unexpectedly of a dissected aortic aneurysm at FHN Memorial Hospital.
Born September 1, 1956, in Hancock, Michigan, he was the son of Albert J. and Mary (Sager) Klein. He married Carla E. Tuomikoski August 18, 1979.
He attended Michigan Tech University where he received his Associates of Electrical Engineering Technology and received his Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Systems from Columbia College in Freeport, IL, in 2002.
David had worked at Honeywell since 1979 in various engineering positions and was currently working as Senior Applications Engineer in Magnetics/Speed and Position Products. He was also CEO of his own business That Computer Guy in Freeport, est. 2005.
He was a member and the present Master of Evergreen Masonic Lodge 170; additionally a member of Scottish Rite Bodies.
David was a loving son, husband, and father; adored and respected by his family and friends.
David was married 28 years to his beloved of 32 years, Carla of Freeport. Survived by his mother, Mary Sager of Lake Linden, Michigan; his father and stepmother, Albert and Mary Klein of Tamarack City, Michigan; one daughter, Corina E. Klein of Freeport; two sons, Trevor D. and Alexander J. Klein both of Freeport; two sisters, Theresa (Mark) Smoter of Manitowoc, Wisconsin, Janet (Paul) Dean currently in Thailand, and one brother, Steve (Carol) Klein of Tamarack City, Michigan and one step sister Vicki (Jeff) Krueger of DePere, WI. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Frank and Mary Sager and paternal grandparents Albert and Marie Klein.
Visitation will be Monday 4 to 7 p.m. at Walker Mortuary followed by a Masonic Service at 7 pm.
Funeral service will be Tuesday 1:30 p.m. at Walker Mortuary.
