David L. Meyer, 60, of Freeport, died Saturday, May 16, 2009, at University Hospital in Madison, Wisconsin. Born February 6, 1949 he was the son of Leo F. and Helen A. (Davis) Meyer. He married Tina Reuber May 30, 1974 in Monroe, Wis. and she died November 3, 2000. Dave worked at Anchor Harvey for 25+ years and then left to go to school at Wyoming Technical Institute to follow his passion for restoring Automobiles. He was a member of the Freeport Eagles Club for over 40 years and also a member of the Freeport Moose and the Harley Owners Group. He loved riding his Harley Davidson Sportster and restoring his many automobiles. Surviving are his children, Stacy L. Newman of Kalispell, Montana and Daryl F. Meyer of Newbern, North Carolina; three grandchildren, Tristan Newman, Kody Newman, and Camden Maves, and Mother-In-Law, Fern Reuber of Freeport. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife. Funeral service will be Thursday 10:30 a.m. at Walker Mortuary. Burial will be in the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Walker Mortuary with an Eagles service at 7 p.m. A memorial has been established in his name.
