Obituary

Freeport-David L. Sager Sr., 53, of Freeport, died Saturday, February 17, 2007, at his home surrounded by family and friends.
Born December 11, 1953 in Freeport he was the son of Harold L. and Ellen E. (Leiby) Sager.
He graduated from Freeport High School, Highland Community College, and Northern Illinois University with a degree in accounting.
On February 11, 1977 David married the love of his life, Judith K. Keller, at Park Hills Evangelical Free Church.
Surviving is his wife, Judy Sager of Freeport; one son, David L. (Kristen Clothier) Sager Jr. of Rockford; his mother, Ellen Sager; 2 sisters, Karen Glasgow (who gave him the gift of life by donating her kidney to him) and Cindy (Wally) Shenberger; one brother, Randy Sager all of Freeport; one sister in-law, Karlynn (Edward) Stubbe of Pearl city; care giver nieces, Patty Shenberger and Dani Glasgow of Freeport; many other extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Harold; grandparents; mother and father in-law, Bernice and Harold Keller; brother in-law, Perry Glasgow; and many other family members.
David was employed at Sager Tax Service, a company his father started, Structo, and retired from Microswitch after several years of dedicated service.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Park Hills Evangelical Free Church with Reverend Mark Balmer officiating. Burial will be in the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be Wednesday 4 to 7 p.m. at Walker Mortuary.
In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in his name.
