David Swain, 54, of Freeport, died Sunday, February 2, 2014 at his home.
Born April 10, 1959 he was the son of James and Marjorie Swain.
David attended school at Nora, Waddams Grove, Cedarville and Freeport.
He worked briefly at Micro Switch and also Anchor Harvey in Freeport.
He was employed for nearly 25 years in the Truss Division of the Building Component Plant at Eleroy, until the plant closed. He was currently employed at Swiss Colony in Monroe, Wisconsin.
David enjoyed spending time at Apple Canyon Lake and spent most of his free time there with friends, camping, fishing and driving the trails in his golf cart.
He is survived by his parents; his sister, Dawn Burkhalter all of Freeport; his nephews, Josh Burkhalter of Dixon, Scott Burkhalter of Chicago and Nick (Amber) Burkhalter of Monroe, Wisconsin; several aunts; uncles; and cousins.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Thursday, February 6, 2014 at Walker Mortuary.
Burial will be in the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, February 5, 2014, at Walker Mortuary.
