David "Fatboy" Triem , age 65 of Freeport, IL, passed away at home surrounded by his family on Wednesday, July 19, 2023. He was born February 23, 1958 in Joliet, IL; the son of the late Wayne and Nancy (Reid) Triem. He attended Freeport High School.

David was an artist by trade, working various jobs in the area including construction, carpentry, painting, and auto body. He did several "side jobs," helping friends with numerous projects. He was a longtime employee at Metal Specialties where he recently retired from.

He loved spending time with his daughters, "the girls." He also enjoyed fishing, cruisin' backroads, and taking three hour "golf cart tours" around the neighborhood. Music was his passion, as he loved rock n' roll. He was a "grill master" who enjoyed cooking for others. David was a legendary storyteller and his favorite past time was sitting around telling jokes and stories with his friends while enjoying a nice cold Busch Light. He was also an avid Chicago Bears fan and never missed Sunday football.

He is survived by his daughters, Tamie (Alfred) Triem of Janesville, WI and Amber (Jose) Triem of Milton, WI; grandchildren, Elizabeth, Dominik, Mason, Jordan, Tyler, and Aurora; great-grandchild, Bakhari; brothers, Daniel (Linny) Triem and Michael (Maggie) Triem; and numerous close friends he called family. He was preceded in death by his parents and longtime girlfriend, Sharon Bamberg.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 22, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Walker Mortuary in Freeport with a visitation before the service beginning at 1:00 p.m. Interment will take place at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Freeport at a later date.
