Dayne Lee Cooley, Sr. age 87, passed away on Thursday, April 14, 2022 at Walnut Acres in Freeport. He was born January 23, 1935 in Terre Haute, IN; the son of the late John Verdayne and Nellie Mae Cooley.

Dayne served in the U.S. Army from 1955 to 1957, patrolling borders in Germany. He married Roberta Lambert on November 24, 1956. Dayne was a superisor at MTX-Serious About Sound for many years. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing. He also loved boating on the lake.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Roberta Cooley of Chicago, IL; son, Dayne (Lori) Cooley, Jr. of Appleton, WI; daughter, Dena (Tim) Yangas of Chicago; grandchildren, Danielle, Alaina, Taylor, Timothy, and Nicholas; great grandchildren, Lennyn, Weston, and Isaac; and sisters, Sharon Cantu and Linda DeLfaunte. He was preceded in death by his parents.
