Dean R. Auman, 94 of Freeport passed away Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at Presence St. Joseph Home. Born June 7, 1920 in Kent, he was the son of Arthur and Georgia (Keister) Auman. He married Margaret Backenkeller at Lena Tabernacle Church of June 12, 1941. Dean was a Veteran of WWII serving in the 2nd Armored Division in the European Theatre. Surviving are his daughter Ginger (Dale) Rowe of Freeport; four grandchildren, Cindy (Greg) Bessert, Nick (Kym) Rowe, Tim (Margie) Auman, Dan (Jennifer) Rowe and eight great grandchildren. Preceding him in death were his parents, son Gary D. Auman on November 5, 2014, three brothers Maurice, Eldon, Norman and sister Rena Vae Simmons. Cremation rites will be accorded and private family services will be held at the Kent Cemetery.
