Deborah Schreiner, age 69 of Shannon, IL, passed away on Sunday, October 22, 2023 at FHN Memorial Hospital in Freeport, IL. She was born August 6, 1954 in Savanna, IL; the daughter of the late Ralph and Barbara (Blake) Pettera. She was a 1972 graduate of Hanover High School. Deborah was previously married to Richard S. Leitzen and later to Ed Schreiner.

She worked for Thermos in Freeport, IL, Dura Automotive in Stockton, IL, several area nursing homes, and most recently for Stephenson FS in Stockton. Deborah was a member of the Hanover Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed mowing her lawn, singing karaoke, listening to country music and playing games. She had various knick-knack collections, her favorite were rabbits. Deborah was a warm and caring person who loved spending time with family, especially spending time with grandkids.

She is survived by her children, Christopher Leitzen of Lake City, FL Heather Leitzen of Mt. Carroll, IL, Mike (Amanda) Schreiner of Shannon, IL, and CJ Schreiner of Warren, WI; step-children, Jerry Schreiner of Fulton, IL, Paula Schreiner of Freeport, IL, and Ed Schreiner, Jr. of Lanark, IL; grandchildren, Mark McColley, Jr., Carissa McColley, Gunner Schreiner, Macie Schreiner, and Elijah Leitzen; brothers, John (Pam) Pettra of Freeport and George (Laura) Pettera of Hanover; sisters, Judy (Bruce) Moldenhauer, Kathy Roberts, Marie Holland, and Pat Pettera all of Hanover; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Stephen, Dennis, James, and Thomas; and sister, Terry.
