Debra (Debbi or Deb) Mick, 69, of Lena, died on Sunday, October 8, 2023 at her home.  Debra was born on July 25, 1954, in Oak Park, Illinois, the daughter of Clarence Dennis and Rosalie Nielsen.  Debra was living with her love, Jeff Reed in Lena, Illinois.  Debra loved her family and friends very much.  She cherished her grandchildren and great grandson.  Debra was a RN at CGH for 20 years, she taught CNA classes, and her most rewarding job was working as a RN at Malcolm Eaton, in Freeport, IL.

Survivors include her love, Jeff Reed; her children, Heather (Tim) Pair, Garret (Carli) Mick, and Samantha (Keihin) Ketchum; Her brother Douglas Nielsen(Sue), her sisters Denise Lahm, and Stacey Nielsen; her grandchildren, Mercedes Parzuch (Michal), Tyler Mick, Keilee Ketchum, Rosalie Pair; her great grandson, Krzysztof Parzuch; her nieces and nephews, Jennifer Garman (Randy), Michael Nielsen (Jamie), Katie Smith (Aaron), Landon Lahm, and Mackenzie Nielsen; her great nieces and nephews, Shaylie Garman, Keegan Garman (Amber), Brynlee Nielsen, Hayden Nielsen, Calan Smith, Murphey Smith, and Riley Smith; her bonus mother, Joyce Volk; her bonus mother-in-law, Katie Reed; her bonus children, Eric Ceruti, Adam Ceruti (Sydney Ferris), Laura Clark (Cory), Lindsay Kastning (Lucas); and her bonus grandchildren, Mariah Clark, Kohen Kastning, Emerson Kastning, and Harper Kastning.

Debra was preceded in death by her father, Clarence Nielsen; her mother Rosalie Nielsen; and her late husband, Robert Mick.

Debbi was loved by all.  She had friends and family all over who will miss her so much.  Debbi loved sending gifts and cards.  She also enjoyed donating to Miss Carly's, in Rockford, IL.  Debbi enjoyed swimming, painting, fishing, crafting, and playing slots.  She collected peace signs and loved tie dye.

There will be a celebration of life on October 28, 2023 at the Eagle Club, in Freeport, IL, from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Miss Carly's in Rockford, IL or to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
