Freeport
Delbert L. "Pickles" Lohr, 93 of Freeport died Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at FHN Memorial Hospital. Born November 27, 1922 in Freeport he was the son of Anna Lohr. He married Lida Brinkmeier November 29, 1947.
He worked at WT Rawleigh for 20 years and then he was an employee of the Freeport School District 145. He was a wounded US Army veteran of WWII.
His memberships included Local Moose Lodge, Eagles Club, VFW, DAV, American Legion, Masonic Order as well as the High Twelve Club in Freeport. He was a former Little League Coach.
Surviving are his wife, Lida of Freeport; his children, Leon (Patricia) Lohr, Cynthia (Richard) Homan; his sister-in-law Lois Pointer; all of Freeport. 4 grandchildren; 3 step grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; 6 step great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Rebecca Lohr; his grandson, Kevin Lohr; 6 sisters; and his grand daughter-in-law, Megan Homan.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, January 9, 2016 at Walker Mortuary. Visitation will be 10 a.m. until time of service Saturday at Walker Mortuary.
Burial will be in the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens Freeport.
A memorial will be established.
