Delmar F. Hurless, 87, of Freeport, died Friday, August 8, 2014, at Medina Manor in Durand.
Born January 7, 1927 in Freeport he was the son of Forest and Nellie (Priewe) Hurless. He married Vivian Mills February 6, 1946 and she died February 14, 2009.
He was an Army World War II veteran from 1943-1945. He served as a medic on the Ship Hope.
Delmar worked with State of Illinois as a Driver's License Examiner. He also served as a messenger for FHN Memorial Hospital.
He was a member of Faith United Methodist Church.
Surviving are his daughters, Cathy (Mike McFarland) Hurless of Madison, Wisconsin and Nancy (Roger) Kramar of Durand; his grandchildren, Christopher Buisker of Freeport, Toni Caravello of Chicago, Darci (Phil) Fleagle of Durand, and Sara Kramer of Oregon; one great granddaughter, Aerile Smith of Freeport; one great grandson, Kallan Fleagle of Durand.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; one grandchild, Joshua Buisker; and one sister, Verda Walter.
Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Faith United Methodist Church. Burial will be in the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Walker Mortuary.
