Freeport: Delmar Edward Smith, 73, of Freeport, IL, passed away Tuesday February 14, 2006 at FHN Memorial Hospital, Freeport. Surviving him is his daughter, Jenny Lynn, of Freeport, IL and his two sons: Terry (Liz), of Dubuque, IA, and Mark (Julene), of Oregon, WI; seven grandchildren Jeromy, Adam, Talli, Lydia, Grace, Jackson, Molly and many friends. Delmar was preceded in death by his wife (Nancy Shoemaker) of 49 years, two brothers, and his parents. Mr. Smith was an Army Veteran of the Korean War. There will be a private ceremony for family members held at Oakland Cemetery. A memorial has been established in his name for the Malcolm Eaton Center.
