Freeport – Delmer F. Strohecker, 87 of Freeport passed away at home with his family at his side on November 21, 2021.  He was born November 5, 1934 in Freeport to the late Chester and Cora (Roach) Strohecker.  He married Dorothy Graff on August 13, 1961.  Together they raised a family.

Delmer served in the Navy for 8 years. He enjoyed playing cards, traveling, gardening, hunting, fishing, watching wildlife, feeding the birds and working in his yard.  He was employed by Kelly Springfield for 23 years.  After retiring from Kelly's he worked for Country Inn and Suites for 12 years.

He is survived by his wife, his daughter Tammie (James) Rogers; Sons, Scott Strohecker and Dan Strohecker all of Freeport.  His sisters Marian Mooney of Freeport and Grace Schatz of Winnebago also survive him.  His legacy also includes 2 grandchildren, Sydney and Sierra Rogers.

Preceding him in death are his parents, his sisters Ella Mae Pehl and Sadie Scheidegger and his brothers, Chester Strohecker Jr. and Dale Strohecker.

Services will be on Saturday, November 27 ^th at 10:30AM at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens Chapel. A memorial has been established in his name for the Alzheimer's Association.  Condolences can be left for the family at www.walkermortuary.com .
