Davis – Delores A. Buss, 81 of Davis passed away July 17 th at home with her family at her side. She was born October 2, 1939 in Grant County, Boscobel, Wisconsin. The daughter of the late George Otto and Hazel (Burns) Young. On March 30, 1958, Delores and Richard G. "Dick" Buss Sr. were married in Freeport. He passed away on November 29, 2019.
Mrs. Buss was employed by Rockford Memorial Hospital and then worked at Micro Switch and Swiss Colony retiring after 9 years. She was a member of St. Paul U.C.C. of Davis, Illinois. She taught bible school at Rock City United Methodist Church, Sunday school for the nursery class at 1 st Lutheran church in Freeport and for the vacation bible school at St. Paul United Church of Christ in Davis. Delores was also a den mother for the Cub Scouts and assisted the troop leader for the Brownie Girl Scouts. She served on the advisory committee for the Dakota Schools, belonged to the Davis Fire Department Auxiliary serving as president and she was also a member of the Stephenson County Home Extension since 1963.
Surviving are two daughters, Kelly Buss of Lena; Kim (Brad) Clark of Rock City; three sons, Richard (Susan) Buss Jr. of Davis, Kevin (Donna) Buss of Davis, David Buss of Rock City. One sister, Sandria Weisnicht of Polver, WI as well as many nieces and nephews.
Eight grandchildren include Erik Buss of Dakota; Antonio 'Tony' of Lena, Keith (Carren) Brown of Rockford, Adam Clark of Rock City, John (Allie) Buss of Littleton, CO, Jason Buss of Davis, Danielle (Josh) Snyder of Omaha, NE, and Kristi (Frank Blum) of Orangeville. Her legacy also includes 6 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
Services for Delores will be held at St. Paul Church of Epleyanna in Davis on Saturday, July 24 th beginning with a visitation at 10am – 12pm. Services will begin immediately following the visitation at 12pm. Her final resting place will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Freeport next to her husband, Richard Sr.
