Freeport - Denise L. Madajczyk,of Freeport passed away on April 19, 2023 at home, surrounded by her family, after a long and courageous battle from an extended illness.  She was born on December 24, 1956 to the late Dennis and Nancy (Graff) Starliper.  She married John Madajczyk on October 11, 2003 and together they raised their family.  She worked many years as a cook at Freeport Memorial Hospital and Provena St. Joseph's.  She enjoyed Bingo, traveling, following the Chicago Cub games, and spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, John and her children, Timothy (Amy) Field of Freeport; Trisha Field of Loves Park; Eric Field of Beloit, WI and Stephanie (Cory) Lutz of Freeport.  Her brother, Terry ( Lisa) Starliper of Freeport.  Her legacy also includes her grandchildren, Isaiah, Kaylyn, Noah, Isaac, Allie, Addisyn and Cory Jr.  She also has a special niece, Elizabeth Starliper and great niece, Demi Lewis of Freeport.  She is preceded in death by her Mother, Father, maternal and paternal grandparents, as well as her step-father, Eldon Scheider.

There will be a celebration of life held on Saturday, April 29th from 1-4pm at the Beltline Cafe in Freeport.  Condolences can be left for the family at www.walkermortuary.com .  A memorial has been established in her name for St. Jude's.
